Recap: Seminole Warhawks vs. Dunedin Falcons
The Seminole Warhawks scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They enjoyed a cozy 49-32 victory over Dunedin. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Seminole.
Seminole had a senior duo take command as Laney Pearson dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds and Devon Swartz scored 14 points along with six rebounds and three blocks. That makes it ten consecutive games in which Pearson has scored at least 25% of Seminole's points. Another player making a difference was Molly Follett, who scored six points.
Several Falcons players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Anna Patterson, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Trinity Clincy, who scored five points along with six steals and five rebounds.
Even though they lost, Dunedin were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Seminole only pulled down eight offensive rebounds.
Seminole has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 4-6 record this season. As for Dunedin, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 2-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Seminole won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Wesley Chapel at 8:00 p.m. on December 14th. Wesley Chapel is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 50.7 points per game. Dunedin won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Palm Harbor University at 7:30 p.m. on December 14th. Hopefully Palm Harbor University focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Monday.
