Softball Game Preview: Swanton Bulldogs vs. Bryan Golden Bears

Swanton is 0-4 against Bryan since April of 2021 but things could change on Monday. The Bulldogs will host the Golden Bears at 5:00 p.m. Swanton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.3 runs per game this season.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Bulldogs on Saturday. Swanton took a 10-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of Edgerton. Swanton has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Alexa Faber put in work no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

Faber wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Lacey Shinaver, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.

Meanwhile, after soaring to ten runs the game before, Bryan was a bit more limited in their match on Saturday. They fell just short of Elmwood by a score of 3-1. The Golden Bears' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Bryan's loss dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Swanton, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-10.

Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Swanton has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.3 hits per game. However, it's not like Bryan struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 2.2 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
