Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Madison County

Madison County had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They came out on top against the Hoover Buccaneers by a score of 7-3. Seven seems to be a good number for the Tigers as the team scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Marion Gamble spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on two hits.

On the hitting side, Kylie Moore was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Sydney Gurley was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Madison County's victory bumped their record up to 17-10. As for Hoover, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-12.

Madison County has already played their next contest, a 6-5 win against Plainview on the 8th. As for Hoover, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 15-0 victory against Mountain Brook on the 8th.
