The third road contest was the charm for Davis Sr., as they earned their first away victory of the season. They blew past the Johnson Warriors 40-14 on Friday. The Blue Devils pushed the score to 40-7 by the end of the third, a deficit the Warriors cut but never quite recovered from.

Davis Sr.'s first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Johnson, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.

Davis Sr. and Johnson could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. The Blue Devils (ranked 729th) will meet Franklin (ranked 287th) at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Johnson will face off against Summerville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank disadvantage (860 vs. 370).
