The Dewar Dragons will challenge the Glenpool Warriors at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Dewar comes in on 25 and Glenpool on three.
Dewar's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They blew past Sperry 9-0. Considering the Dragons have won 20 games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
The result came thanks to Ayden Been's shutout, as he gave up just two hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on P. Kilhoffer, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs he has posted over his last six matchups. The team also got some help courtesy of JONNIE WILSON, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
Kilhoffer wasn't the only one making solid contact: Dewar kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sperry only managed five hits.
Glenpool not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since March 17th. They put the hurt on Cave Springs with a sharp 16-2 win.
Glenpool got a massive performance out of Gabe Wesley, who scored four runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Mang Dal was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Dewar pushed their record up to 25-0 with the victory, which was their ninth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.9 runs over those games. As for Glenpool, they now have a winning record of 11-10.
Friday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Dewar hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .369. However, it's not like Glenpool struggles in that department as they've averaged .362. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
