Softball Recap: County Line Victorious

The County Line Indians sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 victory over the Waldron Bulldogs on Monday.

Tavilynn Fortenberry made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base.

Fortenberry wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Joshi Brown, who went 2-for-4 with one run.

County Line's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Waldron, they dropped their record down to 1-11 with the loss, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. County Line will square off against Magazine at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Waldron, they will host Pottsville at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Apaches' pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so the Bulldogs' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
