Clear Lake blew Kingwood Park out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Saturday Kingwood Park got their revenge. The Falcons fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 50-47. The Falcons' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Clear Lake lost, don't look at Zaedrian Lewis. Despite the final result, he rushed for 142 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only ten carries, and also threw for 70 yards and one TD. Talandis Cotton was another key receiver, picking up 166 receiving yards and two scores.

Even if they lost, Clear Lake's defensive line still kept up the pressure with ten sacks. Graham Payton led the group effort, picking up three of those sacks all by himself. Clear Lake got some further help from Pullig Luke: he picked up a sack and made 12 total tackles.

As for Kingwood Park, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Fort Bend Kempner at 7:00 p.m. on the 25th. The matchup will give the Panthers their first taste of in-conference action this season.
