Recap: Achievement First vs. Academy of Science and Innovation Ravens
Achievement First's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fifth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Academy of Science and Innovation, falling 70-36. Achievement First was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-17.
Jamal Kulaib continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Academy of Science and Innovation, scoring 26 points along with eight steals and six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Kulaib has scored all season. Kyle Swaby was another key contributor, scoring six points along with two blocks.
Achievement First dropped their record down to 1-14 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Academy of Science and Innovation, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Achievement First will take on Capital Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Academy of Science and Innovation, they will play host again and welcome Bulkeley, where tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bulkeley will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Connecticut Rankings (they are ranked 167th, while Academy of Science and Innovation is ranked 30th).
