Basketball Game Preview: Springfield Longhorns vs. Granada Bobcats

The Springfield Longhorns are taking a road trip to challenge the Granada Bobcats at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Springfield saw some tournament action on Saturday. They fell to Swink 49-45. The Longhorns have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Granada had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They took down the Wolverines 56-40.

Springfield better keep an eye on Maddox Coleman. He was instrumental in Granada's win, shooting 4-for-5 from downtown and almost dropping a double-double with 18 points and nine assists. Coleman has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Fernando Cadena, who went 5-for-9 en route to 11 points and three steals.

Granada's victory bumped their record up to 14-5. As for Springfield, their loss dropped their record down to 8-12.

Everything went Springfield's way against Granada in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, as Springfield made off with a 54-31 win. In that contest, Springfield amassed a halftime lead of 32-7, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Tuesday.
