Softball Preview: West Valley Eagles vs. Pullman Greyhounds

West Valley has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Pullman Greyhounds at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. West Valley will be strutting in after a win while Pullman will be coming in after a defeat.

Even though East Valley scored an imposing 18 runs in Saturday's second game, West Valley still came out on top. West Valley won by a run and slipped past East Valley 19-18.

West Valley got a massive performance out of Ally VanWeerdhuisen, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 4-for-6. The team also got some help courtesy of Haylee Kelly, who scored two runs and stole four bases while going 3-for-6.

Meanwhile, Pullman was not able to break out of their rough patch in Saturday's second game as the team picked up their third straight loss. They suffered a rough 10-0 defeat at the hands of Shadle Park. The game marked that first time this year in which Pullman was not able to get on the board.

West Valley's victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-7. As for Pullman, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.

Everything went West Valley's way against Pullman when the teams last played back in May of 2023 as West Valley made off with an 11-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for West Valley since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
