Softball Recap: Apex Wins Going Away Against Cary

There's no place like home for Apex, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Cary Imps on Thursday as the Apex Cougars made off with a 15-2 win. The contest marked the Cougars' most dominant victory of the season so far.

The team relied heavily on Leah Kendall, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Blakely Sellers was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

Kendall wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Apex lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. Apex is a perfect 3-0 when they post two or more home runs.

Apex's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Cary, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

Coming up, Apex will head out on the road to face off against Panther Creek at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Panther Creek is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season. As for Cary, they will be playing at home against Green Level at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Cary has given up an average of 11.6 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
