Football Recap: Ava Finds Playoff Glory Versus Fair Grove

It's playoff time, and Ava had no trouble coming through when it counted. They were the clear victors by a 50-30 margin over the Fair Grove Eagles on Friday. Considering the Bears have won five contests by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Ava's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aiden Lane, who rushed for 116 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 carries. Grant Swatosh was another key player, rushing for 107 yards and one TD on only 12 carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Ava was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 534 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 209 rushing yards in four consecutive matchups.

Ava pushed their record up to 6-4 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.7 points over those games. As for Fair Grove, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.

Coming up, Ava will take on Liberty at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bears will need to watch out since the Eagles have now posted at least 31 points in their last three games. Fair Grove does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
