Volleyball Recap: Purvis Tornadoes vs. Hancock Hawks

Purvis lost against Hancock back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Tornadoes fell just short of the Hawks by a score of 2-1.

The 2-1 score doesn't really reflect how close the match was: every set was decided by two points or less. The final score came out to 26-28, 25-23, 15-13.

Madyson Easley paced Purvis' offense, picking up nine kills. Easley got some help from Presley Long and her 25 assists. Easley and Long didn't slow down when it came to serving: they led the team with three apiece.

Purvis' loss dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Hancock, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.

Purvis wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-1 victory against Our Lady Academy on the 23rd. Hancock has also already played their next contest (against Long Beach), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
