Steele's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Elyria Pioneers with a sharp 3-0 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Comets, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Steele was: they took every set by at least ten points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 25-15, 25-7.

Maddie Doan paced Steele's offense, picking up eight kills. Doan got some help from Callie Beckler and her 17 assists. Elizabeth Vidovich and Hayley Russell kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

The win got Steele back to even at 3-3. As for Elyria, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Looking ahead, Steele will take on Brunswick at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Elyria, they will venture away from home to challenge Midview at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
