Basketball Recap: Roxboro Community Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Roxboro Community extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to five on Thursday, dropping them down to 0-3. They took a hard 70-56 fall against the NCSSM: Durham Unicorns. The Bulldogs lost against the Unicorns in their previous head to head back in November of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 67-28 score last time.

Despite the loss, Roxboro Community still got an impressive performance from John Little, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds. Little is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted three or more in each of the last four games he's played dating back to last season. Braxton Allen was another key player, putting up 11 points.

As for NCSSM: Durham, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-0. The road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.4 points over those games.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead NCSSM: Durham to victory, but perhaps none more so than Alex Caza, who dropped a double-double with 19 points and 14 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Nikhil Nanduri, who posted nine points in addition to eight steals and six rebounds.

Roxboro Community wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 62-18 defeat against Wake Prep Academy on the 24th. As for NCSSM: Durham, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Durham Academy at 7:00 p.m. on the 2nd. The Unicorns will be up against the Cavaliers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 57.25 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
