Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Clifton). They put the hurt on the Kennedy Knights with a sharp 21-1 win on Monday. With that victory, the Mustangs brought their scoring average up to 7.6 runs per game.
Andrea Cedeno was a major factor no matter where she played. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over four innings pitched. Cedeno was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base. That stolen base marked the first that she has snagged this season.
In other batting news, Natasha Aviles was incredible, going 1-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. Casey Mullen was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
Clifton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .389. They are 3-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
With the win, Clifton broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-6. As for Kennedy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.
