Baseball Recap: Mesquite Gets the Win

Mesquite won the last time they faced Lancaster and things went their way on Friday too. The Skeeters came out on top against the Tigers by a score of 7-3. That's two games straight that the Skeeters have won by exactly four runs.

The win made it two in a row for Mesquite and bumps their season record up to 17-4. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games. As for Lancaster, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-12 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mesquite will welcome West Mesquite at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Wranglers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.84 runs per game on average), something the Skeeters will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Lancaster, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Waxahachie at 7:00 p.m. The Indians' pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so the Tigers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
