Basketball Recap: Classical Academy Triumphs

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Classical Academy walked away with it. They snuck past the Preuss UCSD Tritons with a 54-49 win on Tuesday. This was payback for the Caimans, who suffered a 64-48 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Joseph Lanzone was nothing short of spectacular: he went 10-for-18 en route to 23 points along with eight boards and three steals. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points. Issac Chapman was another key player, dropping a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds.

Classical Academy's victory bumped their record up to 10-16. As for Preuss UCSD, their loss dropped their record down to 19-8.

Coming up, Classical Academy will head out to challenge Chula Vista at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Preuss UCSD does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
