Seguin had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.8 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Rice Consolidated Raiders 79-19. That looming 79-19 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Matadors yet this season.

Seguin's victory bumped their record up to 10-13. As for Rice Consolidated, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-14.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Seguin and Weimar will face off on Friday without much rest having both just played. Weimar is on a four-game streak of home wins, Seguin a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. As for Rice Consolidated, they will challenge Edna at 1:15 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Edna has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
