Baseball Game Preview: Steele Canyon Cougars vs. Bishop's Knights

The Steele Canyon Cougars are taking a road trip to square off against the Bishop's Knights at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Otay Ranch hit Steele Canyon with a four-run sixth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Cougars fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Cougars have suffered since March 26, 2025.

Julian Cervantes was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Hall, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Bishop's ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They skirted past Sweetwater 2-1.

The team relied heavily on Jackson Binn, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one double.

The victory got Bishop's back to even at 1-1. As for Steele Canyon, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
