Softball Recap: Carlsbad Takes a Loss

Carlsbad couldn't beat Torrey Pines on Thursday even though they stacked four runs on them in the seventh inning. The Lancers fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 6-4. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Lancers of the 5-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Carlsbad saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Autumn Muro, who went 2-for-4 with one run. Grace Lehman also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Carlsbad's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Torrey Pines, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Carlsbad will welcome San Marcos at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Torrey Pines, they will host San Dieguito Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Falcons are on a three-game streak of home wins, the Mustangs a three-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind.
