            Softball Recap: Lovington Wildcats vs. St. Pius X Sartans        
        
		
        
        
            With a playoff win on the line, Lovington rose to the challenge  on Friday. They walked away with  an   8-5  win over the St. Pius X Sartans. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Sartans recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive  victory against them.
 Zabri Rodriguez was a  major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound,   tossing 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned  (and three unearned) runs off   six  hits. What's more,  she posted two  strikeouts, the most she's  had since back in March. She was also solid in the batter's box,  going 1-for-3 with one  double and one  RBI.

 In other batting news,  Zemarie Ellis was  incredible,  going a perfect 3-for-3 with five  RBI, two  doubles,  and one  triple. Those  five  RBI gave  her a new career-high.  Zoe Blackwill was another key player,  going 2-for-3 with two  doubles and one  RBI.
Lovington pushed their record up to 21-9 with the  win, which was their fourth straight  at home. The  home  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for St. Pius X, they now  have a losing record of 14-15.
 Lovington has already played their next contest,  a  1-0  win against Aztec on the 16th. St. Pius X does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
