Recap: Covington-Douglas Wildcats vs. Wichita HomeSchool Warriors

After a string of three wins, the Covington-Douglas Wildcats's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell to Wichita HomeSchool 43-37. While losing is never fun, Covington-Douglas can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 286th in Oklahoma, while Wichita HomeSchool is ranked 79th in Kansas).

Covington-Douglas' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Derrek Daugherty, who scored nine points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ford Smith, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds.

Covington-Douglas now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Wichita HomeSchool, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-4.
