Preview: Pershing Doughboys vs. Osborn Knights
Pershing is 9-1 against Osborn since February of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Pershing Doughboys will play host again and welcome the Osborn Knights, where tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
On December 5th, Pershing ended up a good deal behind King and lost 60-42. While losing is never fun, Pershing can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 343rd, while King is ranked 116th).
Meanwhile, Osborn scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 70-17 win over Academy of the Americas on the road. That 70-17 margin sets a new team best for Osborn this season.
Pershing's defeat dropped their record down to 2-1. As for Osborn, they pushed their record up to 5-2 with that win, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Everything came up roses for Pershing against Osborn in their previous meeting back in February of 2022 as the squad secured a 83-49 victory. Will Pershing repeat their success, or does Osborn have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
