Softball Recap: West Jefferson Continues Road Dominance on Tuesday

West Jefferson won the last time they faced Triad and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Roughriders blew past the Cardinals 19-2. That looming 19-2 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Roughriders yet this season.

Hailey McBrayer was a major factor no matter where she played. She tossed six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. McBrayer was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Kimberly Warnock and Payton Kincade did most of the damage at the plate: Warnock went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base, while Kincade went 2-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Payton Curry, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

West Jefferson kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Triad only managed five hits.

West Jefferson pushed their record up to 10-1 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.6 runs over those games. As for Triad, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-12.

West Jefferson has already played their next matchup, a 10-0 victory against Bishop Ready on the 24th. As for Triad, they will be playing at home against Mechanicsburg at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Indians will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Cardinals surely won't give up without a fight.
