Basketball Game Preview: Warsaw Wildcats vs. Lawson Cardinals

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Warsaw Wildcats challenge the Lawson Cardinals at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday... Lawson took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Warsaw, who comes in off a win.

While Warsaw didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-19), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They blew past Santa Fe, posting a 55-18 win. That 37 point margin sets a new team best for the Wildcats this season.

Meanwhile, Lawson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 55-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of Cameron. That's two games in a row now that the Cardinals have lost by exactly nine points.

Warsaw has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.5 points per game. As for Lawson, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.

Warsaw strolled past Lawson in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 by a score of 50-36. Will Warsaw repeat their success, or does Lawson have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
