Baseball Game Preview: Cedar Crest Falcons vs. Twin Valley Raiders

The Cedar Crest Falcons are taking a road trip to face off against the Twin Valley Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cedar Crest has given up an average of 7.1 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Cedar Crest fell victim to Hempfield and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They lost 12-0 to the Black Knights. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Twin Valley came out on top against Wilson on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run fourth inning. The Raiders took their match against the Bulldogs 8-5. The victory was familiar territory for the Raiders, who have now won three contests in a row.

Ben Vaughan made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. Vaughan was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Nate DiRocco was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Nate Lord, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Twin Valley pushed their record up to 9-5 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Cedar Crest, their loss dropped their record down to 6-8.
