Basketball Game Preview: S & S Consolidated Rams vs. Leonard Tigers

The S & S Consolidated Rams will head out on the road to square off against the Leonard Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. S & S Consolidated has now lost 14 straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 5.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 76-44, which was the final score in S & S Consolidated's tilt against Blue Ridge on Friday. The Rams were down 60-33 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Despite their loss, S & S Consolidated saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Brenden Hammer, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 11 rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Adam Mutz, who posted ten points and eight boards.

Even though they lost, S & S Consolidated smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. This was only their 13th loss (out of 14 games) when they hit their own glass that hard.

Meanwhile, Leonard came into Friday's contest having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with a 52-43 win over Howe on Friday.

Leonard pushed their record up to 16-8 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.7 points per game. As for S & S Consolidated, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-20.

S & S Consolidated was taken down by Leonard 95-22 in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point S & S Consolidated was down 55-12.
