Baseball Recap: Eastmont Snags Sixth Win in Last Eight Games

Eastmont won the last time they faced Moses Lake and things went their way on Friday too. The Wildcats put the hurt on the Mavericks with a sharp 9-1 win. Considering the Wildcats have won eight matches by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Max Aman and Valente Barrios did most of the damage at the plate: Aman went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run, while Barrios went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. Barrios is becoming a predictor of Eastmont's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 5-10 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Rylan Walt, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Eastmont has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.9 runs over those games. As for Moses Lake, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-7.

Eastmont will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Mavericks: the pair will be back at it again later today.
