Basketball Game Preview: Benton Cardinals vs. Blue Valley Northwest Huskies

The Benton Cardinals will challenge the Blue Valley Northwest Huskies at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Benton is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Pembroke Hill just ended the team's nine-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of the Raiders by a score of 34-31. The contest marked the Cardinals' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Meanwhile, Blue Valley Northwest entered their tilt with Blue Valley Southwest on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Timberwolves 54-52. Given the Huskies' advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked fifth, while the Timberwolves are ranked 251st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Blue Valley Northwest's victory bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Benton, their loss ended a 17-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 12-2.
