Basketball Recap: Northern Durham Takes a Loss

Northern Durham was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 15th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Hillside Hornets, falling 53-21. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 56-18 last Wednesday.

Hillside had a senior duo take command as Kynnedy Roberts went 8 for 16 on her way to 19 points and three steals and Mckenzy Green posted 17 points in addition to seven boards and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Roberts has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Dashae Smith, who had four points and five steals.

Northern Durham's defeat dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Hillside, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-13.

When Northern Durham and Hillside next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Northern Durham will try to stop Chapel Hill's eight-game winning streak when the meet at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Similarly, Hillside will face off against East Chapel Hill and their three-game winning streak at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
