After losing to Somerset the last time they met, Southside decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Cardinals walked away with a 2-0 win over the Bulldogs on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cardinals.

Among those leading the charge was Gabriella Galindo, who had 13 assists and six digs.

Despite the loss, Somerset saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Camila Mendez had nine digs and two aces. Savannah Deleon also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

Southside's victory bumped their record up to 2-8. As for Somerset, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-5.

Southside has already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Boerne on the 23rd. As for Somerset, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-1 win against Winn on the 23rd.
