Baseball Recap: Walker Falls Short Against Ranked Ponchatoula

On Saturday, Walker faced Ponchatoula in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Walker Wildcats came up short against the Ponchatoula Green Wave, falling 7-0. The match marked the first time this season in which the Wildcats were not able to get on the board.

Walker's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Ponchatoula, they pushed their record up to 11-5 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home.
