Larkin had to kick off their season on the road on Saturday, but they showed no ill effects. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Belvidere North Blue Thunder, sneaking past 52-49. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Royals have posted since December 14, 2024.

Belvidere North's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Coming up, Larkin will head out on the road to take on Elk Grove at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Belvidere North, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Rockford East at 7:15 p.m. on December 2.
