Softball Recap: Andrews Beats Sulphur Springs for Their 13th Straight Victory

With a playoff win on the line, Andrews rose to the challenge on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Sulphur Springs Wildcats, sneaking past 6-4. The win was familiar territory for the Mustangs, who have now won 13 contests in a row.

Georgia Lambert spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on nine hits.

At the plate, Kenedi Holly was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexys Cornejo, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run and one double.

Andrews' victory bumped their record up to 35-7. As for Sulphur Springs, their loss dropped their record down to 30-9.

Andrews will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Wildcats: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled on Saturday.
