Basketball Recap: Ryan Carroll Key Part of Team Effort in Panthers Win

Park Rapids won the last time they faced Hawley and things went their way on Friday too. The Park Rapids Panthers walked away with a 58-51 win over the Hawley Nuggets. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.

Park Rapids' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ryan Carroll led the charge by dropping a double-double with 12 points and 15 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Parker Hunter, who went 8-for-10 en route to 19 points and eight boards.

Park Rapids' victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-12. As for Hawley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-18.

Park Rapids and Hawley could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Minnesota Rankings. Park Rapids will square off against East Grand Forks at 7:00 p.m. on Monday down 135 places (205 vs. 70). Similarly, Hawley (ranked 273rd) will meet Barnesville (ranked 102nd) at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
