Baseball Recap: Waldport Comes Up Short

Waldport was not able to break out of their rough patch on Sunday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Salem Academy Crusaders. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Irish couldn't push the score so high this time.

Waldport's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Salem Academy, their win ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-2.

Looking ahead, Waldport will challenge Lowell at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Salem Academy, they will host Gaston at 4:30 p.m. on April 1.
