Preview: Harford Tech Cobras vs. Manchester Valley Mavericks
Harford Tech is 4-0 against Manchester Valley since February of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Harford Tech Cobras will head out on the road to challenge the Manchester Valley Mavericks at 6:30 p.m. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Harford Tech has struggled recently with four losses in a row, while Manchester Valley will arrive with three straight wins.
On Wednesday, Harford Tech took a serious blow against C. Milton Wright, falling 77-31. While losing is never fun, Harford Tech can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 244th, while C. Milton Wright is ranked 43rd).
Meanwhile, Manchester Valley had just enough and edged Western Tech & Environmental Science out 46-44 on Monday.
Manchester Valley's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Carter Strohman, who scored 19 points, and William Cuneo, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Colton Enderle, who scored eight points.
Harford Tech has not been sharp recently as the team's lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season. As for Manchester Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 10-7.
Harford Tech beat Manchester Valley 53-45 when the teams last played back in December of 2022. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Manchester Valley's Markel Brown, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds.
