Soccer Game Preview: Franklin Central vs. Sidney

The Franklin Central Purple Devils will face off against the Sidney Team at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Franklin Central will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Franklin Central barely beat Unadilla Valley the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Purple Devils put the hurt on the Storm with a sharp 4-1 victory on Friday. Considering Franklin Central have won four matchups by more than two goals this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Levi Russell and Jacob Kingsbury scored all four of Franklin Central's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 29 goals.

Meanwhile, Sidney fell victim to Walton and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They lost 3-0 to the Warriors. Sidney haven't had much luck with Walton recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Sidney's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Franklin Central, their win bumped their record up to 6-3-1.

Franklin Central took their victory against Sidney when the teams last played back in September of 2023 by a conclusive 9-1 score. Do the Purple Devils have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Team turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
