Basketball Game Preview: Lewiston Tigers vs. Dorchester Longhorns

After both having extra time off, the Lewiston Tigers and the Dorchester Longhorns will dust off their jerseys to take on one another at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Last Friday, Lewiston came up short against Diller-Odell and fell 45-36.

The losing side was boosted by Everett Bohling, who posted 21 points. That was a full 58.3% of Lewiston's points, marking the third time in a row he's put up more than a third of the team's points.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 63-21, which was the final score in Dorchester's tilt against Osceola last Thursday. The loss continues a trend for the Longhorns in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now lost seven in a row.

Lewiston's defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Dorchester, their record now sits at 1-5.

Everything came up roses for Lewiston against Dorchester in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, as the team secured a 57-29 win. In that game, Lewiston amassed a halftime lead of 34-10, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Thursday.
