Basketball Game Preview: Powdersville Patriots vs. Carolina Academy Trojans

The Powdersville Patriots will head out on the road to square off against the Carolina Academy Trojans at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Powdersville has seven straight victories, Carolina Academy has 19 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

On Tuesday, Powdersville blew past Palmetto, posting an 83-55 win. Given the Patriots' advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 46th, while the Mustangs are ranked 148th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Carolina Academy came up short against Christ Church Episcopal on Tuesday and fell 57-46.

Carolina Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-19. As for Powdersville, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-8.

Everything came up roses for Powdersville against Carolina Academy in their previous meeting last Tuesday, as the team secured a 93-36 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Powdersville since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
