Basketball Recap: Valiant Cross Academy's Loss Ends 14-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Valiant Cross Academy has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 53-52 heartbreaker at the hands of the Hooper Academy Colts. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 back in January.

Despite the loss, Valiant Cross Academy still got an impressive performance from Deshawn Hall, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 13 boards. Hall is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last 50 games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was John Cosby, who posted ten points along with five boards and three steals.

Valiant Cross Academy's loss ended a 14-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 21-5. As for Hooper Academy, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 22-1.

Valiant Cross Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 62-47 victory against Fort Dale Academy on the 3rd. Hooper Academy has also already played their next match, a 53-45 win against Evangel Christian Academy on the 3rd.
