Recap: Swansea Tigers vs. Lower Richland Diamond Hornets
The Swansea Tigers suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Tuesday. They took a serious blow against Lower Richland, falling 50-14. Swansea was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-11.
Lower Richland got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jhnai Sumter out in front who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. Sumter is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played. Chi?nya Isaac was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with two blocks.
Swansea has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season. As for Lower Richland, they pushed their record up to 11-6 with that win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.
Swansea will take on Brookland-Cayce at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in South Carolina (Brookland-Cayce is ranked 172nd, while Swansea is ranked 197th). As for Lower Richland, they will head out on the road to face off against Orangeburg-Wilkinson at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Orangeburg-Wilkinson is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
