Basketball Recap: Hempstead Comes Up Short

Hempstead was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They were dealt an 86-34 defeat at the hands of the Cedar Falls Tigers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Mustangs of the 86-39 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Hempstead's defeat dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Cedar Falls, they pushed their record up to 16-2 with the win, which was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season.

When Hempstead and Cedar Falls next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Hempstead will try to stop Linn-Mar's 11-game winning streak when the meet at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Similarly, Cedar Falls will face off against Dubuque Senior and their ten-game winning streak at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
