Volleyball Recap: Texas Leadership Charter Academy - Abilene Comes Up Short

Texas Leadership Charter Academy - Abilene was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 18th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 3-0 to the Merkel Badgers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-20, 25-15, 25-11.

Kiara Brown paced Texas Leadership Charter Academy - Abilene's offense, picking up six kills. Brown got some help from Symbri Miller and her eight assists. Daniela Gonzalez and Lakota Ward kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

Texas Leadership Charter Academy - Abilene's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Merkel, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Texas Leadership Charter Academy - Abilene will host Mullin on Saturday. As for Merkel, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Aspermont at 6:00 p.m. on September 2.
