Football Recap: Cole Valley Christian Comes Up Short

Cole Valley Christian played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by the Nampa Christian Trojans 35-3. The defeat continues a trend for the Chargers in their meetings with the Trojans: they've now lost three in a row.

Braydon Van Boven threw for 186 yards on 17 of 27 attempts. Ethan Epler was his top target, picking up 90 receiving yards. On the ground, Aiden Shanks rushed for 57 yards.

Among those leading the charge was Pete Dice, who threw for 191 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 73.9% of his passes, and also rushed for 30 yards. Those 30 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

Having lost for the first time this season, Cole Valley Christian fell to 2-1. As for Nampa Christian, they now also have a winning record of 2-1.

Looking ahead, Cole Valley Christian will head out to challenge Wendell at 7:00 p.m. on the 20th. The Chargers will be up against the Trojans' rather soft defense (which has allowed 61 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Nampa Christian, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Fruitland at 7:00 p.m.
