Softball Game Preview: Simsbury Trojans vs. Bristol Eastern Lancers

The Simsbury Trojans are taking a road trip to challenge the Bristol Eastern Lancers at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. Simsbury is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games.

On Saturday, Simsbury beat Manchester 6-1.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bristol Eastern). They never let Northwest Catholic get on the board and left with a 23-0 win on Saturday. The Lancers haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Bristol Eastern let Madison Foertsch and Allyson Mckenna run wild. Foertsch went 3-for-4 with three runs and two RBI, while Mckenna went a perfect 1-for-1 with four runs and one stolen base. That's the most runs Foertsch has posted since back in April of 2024. Haylee Harrison also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Bristol Eastern always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .750. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Simsbury pushed their record up to 11-2-1 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Bristol Eastern, their record is now 12-5.

Simsbury might still be hurting after the 15-7 defeat they got from Bristol Eastern in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Trojans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
