Assumption can bid farewell to their six-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They walked away with an 8-5 victory over the Edgar Wildcats. That's more bragging rights for the Royals, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Ari Cavanaugh was a major factor no matter where she played. She tossed seven innings while giving up five earned runs off nine hits. Cavanaugh was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs.

In other batting news, Elayna Aue was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Those RBI marked the first that she has brought in this season. Breanna Aue was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Assumption's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 2-6. As for Edgar, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 8-7 record.

Assumption will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Wildcats: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday.
