Baseball Recap: Halstead's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Halstead waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 7-2 victory over the Hoisington Cardinals. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 10-5 on Friday.

Reece Carmichael was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Halstead's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 6-2 (and 5-8 when he doesn't). Greyson Swift was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Halstead now has a winning record of 11-10. As for Hoisington, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-14.

Halstead wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 15-0 win against Belle Plaine on the 4th. As for Hoisington, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 4-1 loss against Smoky Valley on the 7th.
