Softball Game Preview: Gallatin Green Wave vs. Portland Panthers

The Gallatin Green Wave will head out to face off against the Portland Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Gallatin is headed into Monday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Thursday. They lost 14-3 to Mount Juliet. That's two games in a row now that the Green Wave have lost by exactly 11 runs.

Gallatin saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bailey Daughtry, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Portland's offense. They came up short against Gibbs on Friday, falling 8-0. The defeat leaves the Panthers still looking for their first win of the season.

Portland's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Gallatin, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.

Gallatin took their win against Portland when the teams last played back in April of 2021 by a conclusive 14-4. The rematch might be a little tougher for Gallatin since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
